Part-time Telepsychiatry Locum Tenens Job in California

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Psychiatrist for a flexible, fully remote locum tenens opportunity supporting an outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment program in California for 2-3 hours a week. This is a low-hour commitment ideal for a psychiatrist looking to supplement an existing schedule while working with an adolescent and young adult population.

Patient Population
--Ages 12 to 24
--Mental health and substance use disorder patients
--Strong focus on Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
--Primarily stable outpatient patients
--May provide consultation for patients at higher levels of care when MAT intervention is needed

Clinical Responsibilities
--Prescribe and manage MAT medications, including Suboxone and Vivitrol
--Provide psychiatric medication management and oversight
--Consult with clinical treatment staff as needed
--Provide Medical Director level guidance and consultation
--Be available for occasional urgent consultation involving withdrawal symptoms or MAT needs

Practice Model
--LPCs and LCSWs provide the majority of ongoing direct patient care
--Psychiatry role is primarily focused on medication management and clinical consultation
--Patient encounters are typically around 20 minutes
--Established EHR system in place

Schedule
--100% remote
--Approximately 2 to 3 hours per week
--Approximately 120 hours annually
--Afternoon or evening availability preferred
--Flexible scheduling

Requirements
--Must be enrolled with Medi-Cal prior to starting
--Board Certification requirements are flexible
--MAT and substance use treatment experience strongly preferred
