Inpatient and Emergency Department Coverage

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide 24-Hour Obstetric and Gynecologic Coverage
Evaluate and Manage Emergency Obstetric Patients
Evaluate and Manage Emergency Gynecologic Patients
Manage Labor & Delivery Patients
Perform Vaginal Deliveries
Perform Cesarean Sections
Respond to Obstetric Emergencies
Respond to Gynecologic Emergencies
Provide Backup Coverage for Family Practice Obstetric Providers
Evaluate Patients Requiring Emergency Gynecologic Intervention
Coordinate Patient Care With Nursing and Anesthesia Teams
Document Patient Evaluations, Procedures, and Treatment Plans in Epic

Requirements

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology - Required
OB/GYN Residency Completion - Required
At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Active Colorado Medical License or Active IMLC With Letter of Qualification in Hand - Required at Submission
DEA Registration - Highly Preferred at Submission; Required for Credentialing
Clean Background - Required
Clean Malpractice History or Malpractice Settlements Up to $100,000 - Acceptable Subject to Review
Experience Managing Obstetric and Gynecologic Emergencies
Experience Performing Cesarean Sections
Comfortable Providing Labor & Delivery Coverage
Comfortable Providing Family Practice Obstetric Backup
Must Be Willing and Able to Work 24-Hour Shifts
Must Be Available for Requested Coverage Dates
Must Confirm Monthly Shift Availability
Must Complete Required Epic Training Before Starting
Local or Drive-In Candidates - Highly Preferred

Credentialing Preapplication and Full Application Must Be Submitted Before EMR Account Setup

Virtual Epic Training Must Be Completed at Least 1 Week Before the First Shift
