Standard Qualifications:  Eastside Medical Center is a 310-bed, full-service, acute care medical center with nearly 1,200 employees and 450 affiliated physicians. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission. Eastside has been a leader for 31 years in a wide range of state of the art healthcare, including emergency services, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, women's services, neurosciences, oncology, cardiology and behavioral health.  Eastside is seeking a Director of Women's Services to lead the Obstetrics Unit.   Position Responsibilities:  Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.  Assumes responsibility for clinical and resource management of unit (24hrs/day).  Assumes responsibility for employee, physician, and patient satisfaction for quality of care.  Promotes hospital customer service initiative.   Department Specific Criteria:  Integrates department's services with the hospital's primary functions and mission.  Coordinates and integrates services within their department and with other departments.  Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of patient care and services.  Oversees care of population served by providing support and expertise to staff.  Continually assesses and assigns patient care.  Continually assesses and improves their department's performance in the hospital's PI program, National Patient Safety Goals, and corporate initiatives.  Maintains appropriate quality control programs.  Maintains responsibility for workflow of unit by ensuring proper staffing levels.  Ensures quality of patient care and assists in patient care as necessary.  Responsible for the financial integrity of the unit.  Handles all staffing needs and personnel management including interviewing, hiring and training new staff members.  Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care and services.  Determines the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners in support roles.  Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the department.  Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.  Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.   As an employee of Eastside, you're entitled to a variety of valuable benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage tailored to your needs.
