Internal Posting Period: October 26, 2016 - November 2, 2016 The RN Wound Care Specialist is responsible for assessing, p lanning, implementing, and evaluating wound care processes in the hospital. * Develops process improvement plans for identified gaps to facilitate a reduction in hospital acquired wound infections and pressure ulcers * Provides direct patient care for all types of wounds including but not limited to traumatic injuries, surgical sites, ostomies, pressure ulcers and incontinence related skin problems * Works with patients and families to provide education and training on the care of wounds * Collaborates with physicians, nursing, and the wound care team to provide optimal impatient care including recommendations for post discharge wound care needs
