Standard Qualifications: Valley Regional Medical Center - Brownsville, TX Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg Super Pool - Full Time Day Shift $36.00/hr plus shift differential Staff members in these positions must select three units they are competent in and willing to float to as needed. Staff may be moved around within these units during their shift if the need arises. 1. Staff members must be available to work their scheduled shifts and two recognized holidays throughout the year. Recognized holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe a therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Plans individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.
