Standard Qualifications: Poinciana Medical Center is a four-story, 150,000 square foot hospital with 70 private beds and a six-private bed ICU. Poinciana Medical Center provides a full range of acute care services including emergency services, diagnostic imaging, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. The Emergency Department is approximately 14,500 square feet and consists of 22 private treatment spaces, an EMS entrance and a helicopter pad. Poinciana Medical Center is located at 325 Cypress Parkway in Kissimmee, serving the communities of Osceola and Polk counties. POSITION SUMMARY: Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners and other required equipment to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Follows physician orders, prepares equipment, positions patients, and correctly and accurately captures the requested diagnostic images. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures physician order for procedure is entered accurately in the system. Consults appropriate resources to clarify unfamiliar or questionable orders. Obtains and documents all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure. Prepares and positions patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures. Performs accurately and timely a variety of diagnostic CT examinations, procedures/studies in accordance with established operating procedures. Administers contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure. Obtains high quality images. Reviews quality of radiographs to insure quality standards have been met. Visually observes patients' conditions and/or reactions, and reports abnormal signs to the physician.
