Standard Qualifications: Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center is a licensed 404 bed acute care facility. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Los Robles Hospital has the only Level III Trauma Center in Eastern Ventura County and the only Emergency Room in both Los Angeles and Ventura counties coveted EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) rating. SUMMARY Responsible for overall management of the Operating Room's day-to-day activities. Working with the strategic direction of the Director of Surgical Services, provides vision, leadership, and management in meeting the facility's strategic goals and providing excellent patient care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES · Assists and supervises staff with direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with surgeons, serves as clinical resource as required and adjusts processes to ensure optimal patient care. · Coordinates activities with other units, maintaining a cooperative relationship through communication, prompt response to requests; building rapport; participation in team problem-solving methods. · Consults with Director of Surgical Services on issues and for interpretation of policy to ensure patient needs are met. Evaluates and monitors clinical care and documentation for adherence to policy and procedure. · Assists with quality initiatives, policy/procedure design and implementation, process standardization, and error-proofing systems to ensure a safe and clean work environment · Assists in planning, organizing, and facilitating orientation and in-service training. Ensures completion of required documentation and delivery as required. · Coaches, rewards, counsels, and disciplines staff on performance/behavior expectations in collaboration with Director of Surgical Services and Human Resources. · Determines and maintains staffing levels through auditing of patient and department records and coordinating appropriate recruitment and selection. · Prepares annual budget, goals and objectives. Achieves financial objectives by expenditure scheduling; analyzes variances; and initiating corrective actions. Studies usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating need; and approving requisitions and cost allocations. Additional duties and responsibilities Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
