Standard Qualifications: GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES -Provides ultrasound services to patients as ordered by the physician. Follows established standards and practices under the direction of the Radiologists. SUPERVISOR - Center Administrator SUPERVISES -None DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Obtains and records all pertinent clinical information relating to the procedure ordered but not limited to pregnancy, lab results, allergies, correlative procedure information, reason for the exam and any patient specific complaints/symptoms. - Demonstrates awareness and respect to the patient, family and/or significant other as an individual and family unit (identifies cultural, and religious needs, language barriers, physical and psychological limitations and education Limitations, etc.). - Demonstrates knowledge of specific conditions, and diseases for the specific patient population of the department. - Demonstrates awareness of responsibility and accountability for completion of assignments and delivery of safe, effective and appropriate care in a timely and accurate manner. - Displays adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and rusease process relating to the areas of Ultrasound performed. Applies appropriate measurements relating to the study ordered and accurately measures and calculates regions of interest based on protocol. - Demonstrates good judgment by self-evaluation of the overall technical quality of the sonographic images, assuring that all studies are performed according to the protocol, are complete, and only quality examinations are submitted to the Radiologist for interpretation. - Familiar with the safety requirements for operating ultrasound equipment and examination room including infection control practices for equipment and procedures. - Promotes a positive work environment by cooperating with all other staff members. - Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement" - Other duties as assigned
