With convenient locations in Derry, Londonderry and Salem, we're proud to provide all the care you need close to home.   Special Procedures Registered Nurse Full Time Days w/ call Required      Summary  The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the care of the patient. The nurse in the Imaging Services Department has a dynamic and varied role. The primary goal of the Imaging Services RN is to provide high quality nursing care to the patient within Imaging Services. Skills utilized in their job performance includes; assessment, communication, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement to patients according to hospital standards, recognized nursing techniques, and both clinical and administrative policies. The overall goal of the Imaging Services RN is to provide optimum patient care utilizing nursing process. The nurse will assess, identify needs, plan, implement appropriate interventions, document, and evaluate outcome.      Clinical Duties :   a. Be competent to care for all types of patients with a high degree of knowledge and skill.  b. Identify patient health related problems and risk status and develop nursing care plan accordingly. Assist other Radiology staff in assessment, diagnosis, care planning, and evaluation of outcomes.  c. Provide individualized care, evaluate effectiveness of nursing care, and recognize any changes in patient conditions.  d. Obtain and record patient's health history, examine patient, perform comprehensive assessment in the outpatient and/or inpatient setting. Determine the need for and initiate diagnostic/screening test and evaluate and report results. Evaluate and document patient's progress during follow-up or post-procedure assessments. Participates in discharge planning including arranging referrals, prescriptions, and patient education.  e. Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of protocols and standards of practice.  f. Consult with nursing and medical personnel in the development and utilization of documentation and quality improvement tools and protocols related to interventional radiology care.  g. May provide assistance with management of the IR clinic including patient scheduling, patient examination and evaluation, patient liaison through telephone calls, letters, etc.  h. Market the Interventional Radiology service to internal and external constituencies through networking, role modeling, public awareness, and educational activities.  i. Provide nursing support to all modalities within the Imaging Services Department  j. Provide nursing support to modalities outside the Imaging Services Department, i.e. Cath lab.
