Standard Qualifications: TriStar Centennial Medical Center - Nashville, TN Clinical Educator (RN) - Oncology - FT Days (Mon-Fri) This position will provide Clinical Educator support for the following units: Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, GYN Oncology, BMT/Hematology, Outpatient Infusion Center and Radiation Oncology. Our 657 bed hospital is both nationally and locally recognized, including being named as one of the nation's Top 100 Hospitals in the areas of cardiology, stroke, orthopaedics and breast cancer management. The Clinical Educator fosters educational development of nursing staff. 2. Collects data and information related to educational needs and other pertinent situations 3. Analyzes issues, trends and supporting data to determine the needs of individuals, organizations and communities 4. Identifies desired outcomes 5. Establishes a plan that prescribes strategies, alternatives and resources to achieve expected outcomes 6. Implements the identified plan a. Coordinates educational initiatives and activities b. Employs strategies and techniques to promote positive learning and practice environment c. Provides consultation to influence plans, enhance the abilities of others and effect change 7. Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes 8. Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing professional development practice 9. Maintains current knowledge and competency in nursing and professional development practice 10. Evaluates his/her own practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines and relevant statues, rules and regulations 11. Established collegial partnerships contributing to the professional development of peers, students, colleagues and others 12. Collaborates with inter-professional teams, leaders, stakeholders, and others to facilitate nursing practice and positive outcomes for customers 13. Integrates ethics in all areas of practice 14. Advocates for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions, institutions and organizations 15. Integrates research findings into practice 16. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in regard to professional development activities and expected outcomes 17.
