Position Summary: Functions as a Nurse Assistant, Unit Clerk and Monitor Tech, as determined by department needs. Performs individualized patient -focused care and technical tasks under the direct delegation of a registered nurse that are based on the developmental levels of the department's specific patient population. Assist patients with the activities of daily living utilizing a patient-centered approach. Serves as a patient advocate working in a collaborative manner with the interdisciplinary team. Observe, interpret and maintain records of cardiac rhythms of patients on cardiac or telemetry monitoring. Continuously improves services and processes. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Required Registration, Licensure or Certification l Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy l Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification l None Required Education or Experience l Completion of one of the following four: l Completion of a nurse assistant training program; OR l Six months previous nurse assistant experience; OR l Emergency medical technician (EMT) experience; OR l Successful completion of the first semester of nursing school clinical, to include basic clinical skills Preferred Education or Experience l None Required Knowledge and Skills l Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively l Ability to perform clerical skills and proper phone etiquette l Possess basic personal computer skills
