Standard Qualifications: Parham Doctors' Hospital, a campus of Henrico Doctors' Hospital, is located in the west end of Richmond. Parham Doctors' Hospital is a 200-bed facility offering medical and surgical programs including orthopedics, behavioral health, bariatrics, imaging, rehabilitation services, 24-hour emergency care, sleep disorder, podiatry, primary care, and occupational health. The Parham Doctors' Hospital campus is home to The Orthopedic Hospital, one of the most honored joint and spine programs in the state. The General Medical Unit RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include: Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to the patient. Performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient, and departmental safety. Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Documents required information according to hospital policy. Functions in an organized and time conscious manner. Demonstrates leadership in the charge nurse role by supervising the delivery of care. Presents self in a professional manner. Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/o significant others. Uses appropriate Patient Education documentation modality. Additional Information About the Unit : - 15 bed Adult General Medical Unit - Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 - Average Length of Stay is 4.7 days - Interdisciplinary team meets daily to review progress, barriers to discharge, and discharge needs - Unit based educator to support onboarding and facilitate growth of staff - Team with employees ranging from new grads to 30+ years of experience, fosters mentoring environment. - Fosters professional growth through active Unit Practice Council, and specialty certification of Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse and Chemo certification.
