Standard Qualifications: One of the most experienced and comprehensive medical centers in Kansas! Wesley Medical Center is the hospital of choice for thousands of people in Kansas and northern Oklahoma. The Vascular Access/Special Procedures Nurse will coordinate vascular access devices including midline and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC Line), and ultrasound guided IVs. Position will be responsible for placement of PICC lines per x-ray or tip confirmation system. Special Procedures Nurse will also assist with central line placement, procedures requiring moderate sedation and sterile set up. Special Procedures Nurse responds to Code Blue, Massive Blood Transfusion and Hypothermia to expedite vascular access. The Special Procedures Nurse provides vascular services to newborn through geriatric. Candidates must be able to assess own learning needs to enhance personal and professional development to increase knowledge and skills related to patient care by attending workshops, formal classes, seminars and inservices. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members Special Procedures Nurse will provide care in accordance with the hospital departmental policies and procedures, and support the mission of WMC
