This position performs advanced patient care under the direction of a physician. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests; diagnoses acute and chronic conditions, initiates and manages treatment plans, which include prescribing medications. Initiates consults, makes rounds on patients and records on progress notes, dictates history and physicals and, discharge summaries. As part of clinical care, NPs focus on health promotion, disease prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases, health education and counseling.
