Job Description: Integrates clinical laboratory support services (OP customer service, billing and regulatory compliance) into the primary functions and goals of the organization at the division level, with individual facilities, and with individual departments within the lab. Demonstrates complete understanding of the roles these services play in the provision of efficient and compliant high quality healthcare. Maintains support services in a state of continual readiness for inspections and disasters. Ensures compliance within thepo division with regulatory and corporate standards for billing, including: the Laboratory Billing Compliance Program and related REGS.LAB policies and procedures, chargemaster maintenance and reviews, appropriate CPT coding, modifier and CCI edit reviews, fee setting for various tiers, and lab client contracts. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of how to bill and code properly for the lab and has the ability to assess how changes in compliance and regulations will affect lab operations. Plans and administers the Laboratory Quality Plan. Provides coordination of resources in order to monitor and maintain a standard of care which meets or exceeds the requirements of The Joint Commission, the College of American Pathologists, CMS, and the State. Actively participates as well as directs one-time as well as ongoing quality monitors. Plans and directs HIPAA/HITECH Program at CJW and provides support and guidance for all market hospital sites Oversees laboratory outpatient and outreach business including Laboratory Services Contracts, Courier Services, and Supplies that support this business sector for all sites. Ensures outpatient and client satisfaction as well as client compliance with REGS policies. Monitors and seeks ways to improve the registration and billing processes. Maintains and cultivates a good communication network to include Laboratory leadership and staff, pathologists, IT&S. Demonstrates appreciation for the priority of meeting/exceeding customer expectations, including internal customers, clients, physicians and nursing staff. Displays appropriate customer/client service skills. Supports the Hospital and Laboratory administrative teams. Demonstrates innovation and creativity. Responds appropriately to changes in clinical laboratory medicine and the field of information technology and services. Adheres to proper resource allocation and coordination and makes fiscally sound recommendations and decisions.
