Registered Nurse Quality and Patient Safety Full-Time Days, No Weekends     Summary:     The Quality & Patient Safety Improvement RN supports implementation of hospital performance improvement initiatives. He/she assists with organization's quality & patient safety data abstraction, collection and reporting program. He/she provides consultation to hospital leadership and staff for performance improvement, continuous compliance and survey readiness. The Quality Improvement RN works with the Quality & Patient Safety Department to move the Quality & Patient Safety programs forward across the organization with respect to quality, safety, experience & value including Continuous Readiness for regulatory accreditations and certifications.     Essential Functions:     Assists with organization, preparation and implementation of performance improvement initiatives in line with hospital needs and prioritiesPerforms daily follow up on hospital units as required for core measure patients as part of concurrent review processAssists and supports data abstraction vendor(s)Communicates and promotes understanding of Joint Commission, National Patient Safety Goals and Leapfrog Group Safety Initiatives to hospital department representatives and utilizes data collection and analysis to monitor complianceParticipate in Joint Commission and QRS documentation preparation, standards interpretation, surveys and responseParticipates with CDI, Coding and Quality to improve quality of care and documentation of careResponsible for orientation of new staff and physicians with respect to Joint Commission, CMS Core Measures, HCAHPS, and other quality initiativesWorks as clinical consultant within the Quality & Patient Safety team to maintain validity of quality presentations and reports submitted by the Quality & Patient Safety departmentParticipates in monthly quality rounding with Infection Prevention and other Department Leaders to maintain continuous readiness and report results to Patient Care and SafetyPerforms focused chart review to identify unexpected mortality, complications, provide comparative data through various software programs, peer review casesFacilitates identification, reporting, and investigation of Serious Preventable Adverse Events and Hospital Acquired Conditions and Hospital Acquired InfectionsSupport and assist with ED Satisfaction, Service Excellence, Patient and Family Advisory, and other corporate priority initiativesPromotes internal and external customer satisfactionBuilds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
