The West Florida Healthcare campus includes the all private room acute care hospital, a mental health facility, and the area's only CARF-accredited, comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital Job Summary : The Medical Technologist Manager performs all approved laboratory procedures in assigned areas of licensure. The position requires exercise of independent judgment under minimum supervision. The work customarily involves any testing which may require a high degree of theoretical knowledge and technical expertise in licensed areas. Follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior. Essential Functions : Maintains confidentiality of all Protected Health Information. Evaluates new laboratory methods & equipment. Coordinates Technologists' schedules as required. Monitors performance of all assays in designated section. Ensures compliance with JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, OSHA, ACHA, and other regulatory requirements. Writes and revises policies and procedures as needed. Ensures that required documentation is performed. Instructs and councils Medical Technologists in performance of technical duties. Assists Director with annual evaluations of Medical Technologists. Trains new Medical Technologists and Med Tech Managers Experience : A minimum of five (5) years' experience is required.
