Standard Qualifications:   We are currently seeking an exceptionally strong executive leader in the oncology space for our Associate Regional Vice President of Oncology Services based out of the Roanoke, Virginia area.  Sarah Cannon, the global cancer institute of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), offers integrated cancer services with convenient access to cutting-edge therapies for those facing cancer in communities across the United States and United Kingdom.  By bringing together a network of renowned cancer experts, we are collaborating and sharing best practices that address every aspect of the cancer journey. Beginning with screening and diagnosis continuing through treatment and survivorship, so that patients can receive quality care with improved outcomes.  The Associate Regional Vice President (ARVP) will drive operational excellence for HCA's Capital Division oncology service line, specifically ensuring Southwest Virginia region delivers high quality, patient centered oncology care through program development under the direction of the Regional Vice President, Capital Division Leadership and Chief Executive Officers. The ARVP will serve as a regional leader for executing mid and long range strategic initiatives to optimize operational performance while managing operational short range planning and execution related to disease site performance, marketing and compliance. The ARVP will execute the coordination of various operational initiatives, and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators (metrics). The ARVP will ensure operational support to facilities involved in the strategic implementation of Oncology programs, mentoring colleagues to ensure optimum team performance.  Duties and Responsibilities:  Duties include but are not limited to:  -Works under the direction of the Regional Vice President of Oncology Services, Capital Division Leadership and Chief Executive Officers focused on the implementation of operational tactics driven from the Capital Division strategic plan.  -Monitors and manages the region's oncology operations performance including disease site specific quality metrics, safety, volumes, physician relations, and patient satisfaction.  -Participates in, and or manages assigned disease specific workgroups and cancer governance councils.  -Attend cancer committee meetings, tumor board conferences and cancer program administrative meetings at Capital Division Facilities, as appropriate.  -Demonstrates problem solving approaches and responds to questions, concerns, issues in a timely manner. Identifies new areas for partnership/collaboration and relationship development.  -Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with key representatives of the Division, including but not limited to: CEO's, Administrators with operational responsibility for a cancer program, other program managers and colleagues, Oncology Program Managers, Vice Presidents, Medical Directors, relevant physicians, Marketing Directors, Public Relations Director, Coordinator of Community Outreach.  -Assures implementation of established guidelines, policies and procedures. Works with staff and physicians in creating and implementing objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care; Evaluates effectiveness of policies and procedures and make recommendations for change. Identifies and recommends opportunities to impact performance trends favorably (staffing level optimization, overtime etc.) and implements approved action plans to ensure optimum performance.  -Works with Capital Division Sarah Cannon Navigation Director on establishing an oncology navigation program for the Southwest region of Virginia.  -Ensures highest levels of client satisfaction; proactively resolves any potential client/partner/oncologist issues.  -Ensures region's regulatory compliance; monitors changes in applicable laws and regulations (DPH, ACR and/or other governing bodies), compliance with region's quality and safety programs; ensures the highest standards of patient care.  -Maintains knowledge of health care trends in academic and community oncology settings and keeps current with oncology standards of patient care through journals, articles, conferences, etc.  Competencies  Knowledge:  -Strong strategic thinking and management skills.  -Strong clinical operations experience in healthcare setting  -Broad based business acumen and understanding of various disciplines within oncology services (operations, finance, technology, etc.).  Skills:  -Outstanding communication/presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively to varying audiences.  -Proven success in operationalizing new services or improving existing services in a complex environment.  -Demonstrated skills in successful project management, business analysis, problem solving and consensus building.  Abilities:  -Strong team-oriented, results driven and collaborative style.  -Proven ability to work across business lines to address strategic issues of importance and ability to work on multiple projects at once.  -Able to work in a matrixed environment
