Position Summary: The Infection Prevention Program at Tulane Health System serves Tulane Medical Center and Outpatient Clinics as well as Tulane-Lakeside Women's and Children's Hospital, and Lakeview Regional Hospital. The Infection Prevention program is an essential part of the Health System's overall commitment to quality and patient safety as we continuously work toward our mission of providing world class patient care, education, and research. The Infection Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiological principles and is responsible for the following activities for Tulane Health System: 1. surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAIs), 2. education of employees, 3. development of Performance Improvement and Infection Prevention plans and programs, and 4. validation of rigorous infection control standards that meet or exceed state and national regulatory recommendations and requirements.
