Standard Qualifications: Lake City Medical Center has been providing quality healthcare to Lake City and the surrounding communities for almost 60 years. We are a 67-bed comprehensive facility offering medical and surgical programs including 24-hour emergency care, heart care, orthopedics, cancer care, imaging and rehabilitation services. LCMC is the areas ONLY Accredited Chest Pain Hospital and the only facility to offer interventional cardiology. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and have been named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for four consecutive years. BASIC FUNCTION: This position has individual responsibility for abstracting data as defined by the various measure sets/indicators. This data may be entered into computer database and/or Microsoft Word, Excel, or manually entered on a form. Monitor for compliance to maintain hospital standards of care in accordance with JCAHO, state, and federal regulations. SIGNIFICANT RESPONSIBILITIES Systematically abstracts specified data that is complete, accurate, and consistent. Concurrently reviews all required patient records for compliance with core measures indicators. Demonstrates and facilitates compliance with JCAHO, CMS, AHCA requirements regarding timeliness of submission of data Exhibits responsibility and accountability for assigned work, works independently Must balance multiple tasks/projects while meeting organizational standards Must be extremely detail oriented and able to follow through on all assigned tasks Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruption Uses various software programs to develop, generate and update documentation Reviews medical records according to criteria and outcome data identified Works effectively as a team member Demonstrates excellent skills in planning, organizing, and managing personnel resources in a cost effective and productive manner for the operation of the nursing department.
