Standard Qualifications: We are seeking a Manager of the Maternal Infant and Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Johnston-Willis Hospital. In the Maternal Infant Unit at Johnston-Willis Hospital we offer a full range of integrated women's health services for all stages of our patients' lives. Our team of highly-trained Gynecologists, Obstetricians, Perinatologists, Anesthesiologists and Registered Nurses provide our patients family-centered care that is rooted in compassion. Our Maternal Infant Unit includes a 24-bed Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP), with spacious rooms our patients remain in for the duration of their stay. In addition to the LDRP rooms, we have 3 overflow Postpartum rooms, a Nursery, and 2 Obstetrics (OB) Operating Rooms. For high-risk pregnancies and childbirths, we maintain a 20-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), multiple maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and 24/7 Neonatologist coverage. Johnston-Willis Hospital supports a positive work environment as evidenced by utilizing AWHONN staffing guidelines. We support and encourage professional growth and development of our team members through continuing education (Fetal Monitoring Class, OB Safety Drills, etc.), and our clinical ladder program. For the community we offer outreach education programs and classes such as Preparation for Labor, Labor Basics, Baby Basics, Breast-Feeding Classes and Support Group, Postpartum Support Group, Sibling Class, and Class for Multiples. Our 292-bed hospital offers a full range of healthcare services, with specialties in addition to inpatient rehabilitation such as cancer care - through the Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital, our ER which is a state-authorized level III trauma center, and neuroscience, including our first-in-Richmond Gamma Knife Center. Specific elements and essential functions of the Manager of the Maternal Infant and NICU are listed below; those functions with an (*) are essential functions considered necessary to accomplish this job. *1. Manages the fiscal and clinical operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide care. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. *2. Integrates department services with the hospitals primary function maintaining communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients and their families/significant other. Coordinates and integrates services within departments. *3. Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services. Supervises nursing staff and assures staff competency. *4. Conducts ongoing assessment and improvement of the department's performance. Promotes the Quality Management program of the facility maintaining appropriate quality control programs (where applicable). 5. Assists the Director to develop, markets, implements, and evaluates new services and programs recommending space and resources needed. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. *6. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. *7. Develops goals and objectives for assigned area(s) of responsibility and participates in development of goals and objectives for the Nursing Department. *8. Provides for orientation, inservice training, and continuing education for persons in the department. 9. Assumes the duties of the Administrative Nursing Supervisor as assigned.
