They also are accredited Chest Pain Centers by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1 Performs and documents nursing care for patients within the Outpatient Cath Lab Scope of Care. *2 Administers medications utilizing all routes as ordered. * 3 Takes call after regular hours per unit policy. *4 Responsible for all phases of filmless technology. 5 Restocks and cleans work area to promote patient safety. *6 Acquires and analyzes appropriate data necessary for interpretation of the study. *7 Actively participates in continuing education. *8 Serves as a liaison for the Cath Lab to promote physician, interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships. *9 utilizes equipment and performs special procedures competently as related to the Cath Lab Scope of Care. *10 Effectively communicates verbal and written information, instruction or education to the patient, family members and other members of the health care team as appropriate. 11. Participates in departmental continuous quality improvement (CQI) planning and monitoring.
