Standard Qualifications: Registered Nurse Supervisor - RN Supervisor - House Supervisor Nursing Administration Day Shift Medical City Alliance is a 55-bed, acute care hospital that opened in February 2015. The three-story, 155,000 square foot full-service facility serves the communities of Fort Worth, Keller, Roanoke, Haslet, Saginaw and surrounding communities in northern Tarrant county and southern Denton county. Medical City Alliance offers a full range of services, specializing in women's, cardiology, robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, and emergency care and has been recognized by The Joint Commission for the Hospital Accreditation Program for 2015. POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the CNO the Nursing Supervisor assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the facility on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the administrative and management teams, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided within the facility. The Nursing Supervisor: Assumes organization responsibility for the administrative and technical supervision of all nursing personnel during the after-hours shifts. Advances organizational mission. Operates across organizational boundaries to ensure processes are in place to coordinate care, treatment and service processes. Appropriately alters supervisory/management style to suit the situation and individuals involved. Takes responsibility for actions, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and responds to requests for service and assistance. Makes appropriate decisions, supports and explains reasoning for decision, makes timely decisions and includes appropriate individuals in decisions. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains communication with other members of the management team regarding potential/actual problems or concerns, and with Medical Staff issues. Provides direct and ongoing support of staff with regard to conflict resolution and personnel policy compliance, including input and/or completion of performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assists unit supervisors/charge nurses with resolving and/or channeling employee grievances according to appropriate procedures. Teaches, supervises and serves as a resource for staff, assists with clinical procedures as needed; never taking a patient assignment. Maintains effective utilization and maintenance of manpower, equipment, and supplies. Rounds on staff during the shift and on patients/visitors as needed. Follows up and ensures completion of patient treatment, tests and procedures. Ensures all medication discrepancies are resolved prior to leaving the shift utilizing end-of-shift reports through unit charge nurses. Maintains Nursing Supervisor 24 hour report to reflect "need to know" information that feeds into all levels of leadership.
