Standard Qualifications: TriStar Centennial Medical Center - Nashville, TN Bed Capacity Coordinator (RN) Our 657 bed hospital is both nationally and locally recognized, including being named as one of the nation's Top 100 Hospitals in the areas of cardiology, stroke, orthopaedics and breast cancer management. This position will play a key part in continuing our success! Centennial Medical Center is currently looking for a Bed Capacity Coordinator (RN)--PRN. Responsibilities: Facilitates patient throughput with an ongoing focus on quality and efficiency Identify, trend and report barriers to patient throughput within the organization. Screens admissions, using approved criteria, for appropriateness of level of care orders and bed assignments Prioritizes and assigns beds for all admissions and transfers in the hospital Educates nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff in level of care and bed placement issues Documents bed placement activities in Meditech, Central Logic and CMC Bed Management tracking systems. Through effective and professional communication, acts as a liaison between and with physicians, patient /family, hospital staff and patient care areas, Participates in daily bed management meeting and effectively communicates resources and issues to appropriate areas of the facility. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements, HCA Ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives; monitors self-compliance and implements process changes to ensure compliance to such regulations and quality initiatives as they relate to the provision of Bed Management Services Tracks and trends barriers to patient flow; makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems Adheres to established policy and procedure and standards of care; escalates issues through the established Chain of Command in a timely manner Maintains current and accurate information in Bed Management IT&S systems. Facilitates the collaborative management for bed capacity at Centennial Medical Center (primarily Tower, SCCC, 3WH) Manages flow of patients (inpatient and outpatient) into the CMC facility. Maintains bed board utilization systems. Maintains reports (reporting tools) related to the flow of patients = capacity Works cooperatively with all patient care areas and in conjunction with Nursing Leadership to ensure the appropriate placement of patient's based on priority and acuity and care/needed treatment/anticipated
