Magnet Pathways designated Malcolm Baldrige award recipient 100 Top Hospitals, Thomson Reuters (2012) Texas Ten Step Facility POSITION SUMMARY : The Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Prep and Recovery Unit (CPRU) RN, under the direction of the Cath Lab RN Supervisor, Cardiology Manager, and Cardiovascular services director, is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of illnesses, admission/assessment of patients, medication administration, direct and indirect patient care. This position is also responsible for providing pre-procedure care and post-procedure care, to include patient discharge teaching/planning and physical discharge of patients from the unit. This position plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care for one or more patients on the unit. Other departmental duties as assigned, such as: ordering supplies/maintaining inventory, providing appropriate information towards future needs and actively supports process improvement within the Cardiology Department. The RN maintains an active marketing profile for the facility/physicians and maintains professional standards and seeks professional growth. The RN practices in accordance with organizational medical staff directives, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Cardiology Department and the Heart Hospital of Austin at Round Rock Medical Center.
