Standard Qualifications: Bariatric Clinical Educator Medical City Las Colinas Full-time: M-F 0800 to 1700 POSITION SUMMARY/DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION: The Bariatric Educator/Nurse is responsible for all components of education for the patient population served (Bariatrics) including the pre, inpatient and post-operative period. Additionally, the Educator is responsible for hospital and clinic staff's knowledge of the patient population needs and compliance to Annual educational requirements. The position requires exceptional customer service skills, while interacting effectively and competently with patients and their families who are contemplating a weight loss surgery or medical weight loss program. The Educator/Nurse must be able to work with minimal supervision. Critical thinking skills depict ability to prioritize patient, family, physician needs and to coordinate services with physicians, hospital personnel, nursing, vendors, and other staff as appropriate.
