Located near the Texas Medical Center, Woman's offers 397 licensed beds, including a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) and a full range of women's health services and newborn infants. More than 650 board-certified physicians at Woman's offer their expertise and an outstanding level of quality care in the areas of gynecology, obstetrical care, high-risk pregnancy and minimally invasive surgery. The Woman's Hospital of Texas is currently looking for an Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Transport Team. Responsibilities: The transport nurse must provide professional nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process. The transport nurse must collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team within TWHT and in the community to deliver quality health care. The transport nurse must show the ability to assess and reassess critical patients in emergency settings. The transport nurse is responsible for knowledge of patient responses, side effects, proper dosages, and accepted practices in emergent transport for their patient population. The transport nurse is also responsible for knowledge pertaining to the use of all transport equipment that is and may be used on a transport and all skills that are and might be used on transport. Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process Participates and cooperates in the Transport Performance Improvement Process. Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel. Practices and develops customer service skills in enhancing relationships with internal and external customers. Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients' right to privacy by protecting confidential information. Utilizes knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and emergency procedures to provide safe and effective patient care during transport. Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient. Other duties as assigned.
