Standard Qualifications:   TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center - Nashville, TN    Certified Operating Room Technician II   For more than 30 years, TriStar Southern Hills has been a leader for a wide range of healthcare services, including emergency services, cardiology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery and rehabilitation. Serving our community since October 15, 1979, TriStar Southern Hills continues to grow and evolve. Since that time, the hospital has grown to 126 beds and serves three counties, including Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford. TriStar Southern Hills medical staff currently has over 300 members representing more than 20 specialties. All are board certified or board eligible. We are recognized as both a Certified Stroke and Chest Pain Center by The Joint Commission as well as by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.  There is a great culture of caring at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center. Serving our patients with the H.E.A.R.T. of a servant is our goal.  The TriStar Southern HillsOperating Room is a 10-suite unit serving all populations of patients representing 12 specialties. Surgical technologists help ensure that the operating room is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. They handle the instruments, scrub, and other supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. They perform basic tasks such as checking patients' medical charts and consent forms, preparing sterile dressings, and closing incisions. TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is currently looking for a Certified Operating Room Technician II.   SHIFT: Full-Time (No Weekends)   Responsibilities: Demonstrates the facility's Standards of Performance, H.E.A.R.T. values, and Patient Promise.Adheres to standards of safety and infection control, in the delivery of patient care.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and complies with all policies and procedures related to the performance of job dutiesWhen assigned to standby call, responds within specified timeframe. Provides patient care with consideration of professional ethics. Is aware of hospital ethics policy and utilizes as appropriate. Assists with positioning of patients, provides protection of pressure points, and keeps body parts in proper alignment. Routinely scrubs and circulates on assigned cases. Performs surgical scrub according to procedure. Gowns and gloves self in accordance with gowning and gloving procedure. Opens instrument tray, following Basic Aseptic Technique Policy and Procedure. Inspects sterilization indicator. Notifies circulator if any instrument is missing, inoperative, or of suspect sterility. Sets up instrument stand with drapes, sutures, power tools, and other instruments in accordance with the operating surgeon's Preference Card. Opens drape pack, following basic aseptic technique. Assist first Assistant or surgeon in draping patient to establish the sterile field in accordance with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices for Perioperative Nursing. Provides surgeon appropriate instruments and supplies, following sterile technique, in anticipation of surgeon's need or at surgeon's request. Maintains own sterility and that of instruments until patient is no longer in room
