Standard Qualifications:   The House RN Supervisor position supports the vision and mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Under the direction of the Manager of Nurse Staffing, the Director of Medical/Surgical Services and the Administrator On-Call, the hospital Nursing Supervisor:  Is responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of clinical activities of the hospital during his/her assigned shift.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to assist and provide direction to hospital staff to problem solve staffing and care delivery issues and involves appropriate administration staff and the Administrator On-Call as necessary.  Demonstrates an understanding of the staffing plan and implements cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions.  Conducts both P/SL and RMHC daily staffing meetings.  Ensures the timely admission of patients from the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Direct Admissions and the Access Center.  Responds as patient advocate during off-hours to patient concerns and reports these interactions to the Patient Advocacy Department.  Responds to all CODE/RRT situations throughout the facility.  Coordinates decedent affairs in an empathetic and compassionate manner to ensure accurate and efficient collection of information, record keeping, submission of certificate and related documentation, and report completion to meet state, CMS, Denver Coroner's office and other regulatory agency requirements.  Assembles and submits reports in an accurate and timely fashion.  Consistently demonstrates excellent customer service, iCARE Standards of Behavior, and service recovery skills to enhance the patient experience.  Participates in the monitoring, coaching, and evaluating process.  Assists with or initiates the incident command center during off hours.  Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with his/her scope of nursing practice and competence.   Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children expects our iCARE Standards of Behavior and our Code of Conduct Value Statements to be reflected in the way every employee interacts with co-workers, patients and family members, and with others in the community.  We recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual  We treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness  We act with absolute honesty, integrity and fairness in the way we conduct our business and the way we live our lives.  We trust our colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect and dignity
