The Gulf Coast Division Office is looking for a Social Worker- HCAT  Responsibilities:  The HCAT Social Worker serves as a behavioral health consultant to physicians by providing specialized care to patients experiencing psychiatric distress. The HCAT Social Worker conducts behavioral health assessments to determine a provisional diagnosis and recommend a safe discharge plan of care for patients. Patients are predominantly in the emergency department or admitted to the medical units of HCA hospitals. The HCAT Social Worker interacts with patient, family and medical staff via tele-video and telephone technology. Assess patients experiencing psychiatric distress and provide provisional psychiatric diagnosis utilizing DSM V. Conduct thorough suicidal risk assessment. Effectively communicate plan of care recommendations to physician, nurse, case manager, and other essential personnel. Collaborate with professionals in all levels of the healthcare team to solve challenging issues that affect patient care. Transitional treatment modalities most used are psycho-education, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and supportive counseling. Other duties include reviewing clinical packets for inpatient psychiatric admission; and managing community and crisis calls.
