Standard Qualifications: The Lead CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams, provides the highest level of customer service and image quality and provides leadership to technical staff, physicians and patients. 1. Directs and makes assignments for the daily operations of the department 2. Participates with the department manager in performance evaluations, coaching and disciplinary functions 3. Develops and manages staff schedules 4. Enters, edits and reviews Kronos timecards for accuracy and ensures they are ready for manager approval 5. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting staffing to meet set productivity metrics 6. Participates in the interviewing, selection, and orientation of new hires and students 7. Participates in service recovery through investigation and customer interaction. 8. Rounds on patients to ensure that they are receiving exceptional service and high quality care. 9. Acts as a liaison between physician offices, scheduling, radiologists, nursing staff and other technologists to ensure all issues are responded to in a timely fashion. 10. Acts as the point of contact for the radiologist to ensure that protocols are reviewed, maintained or modified and communicated to technical staff. 11. Ensures that all QC activities are completed (ACR accreditation, crash cart checks, radiation right, etc.,) 12. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in working order and if in need of repair reports issues to service or manager 13. Ensures that the department has the appropriate supplies needed to care for patients. 14. Serves as a voice for the department and engages in future planning and employee engagement tactics. 15. Supports customer service initiatives and acts as a role model for outstanding patient care. 16. Performs CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care. 17. Prepares procedure trays with appropriate supplies 18. Takes patient history and retrieves any necessary orders or prior images. 19. Provides patient history/signs/symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist 20. Appropriately completes documentation 21. Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete. 22. Supports Radiation Right and dose reduction during exams. 23. Informs patient about procedure and answers questions. 24. Starts IVs for contrast administration, performs i-STAT creatinine levels, and properly utilizes existing lines and ports according to hospital /departmental policy. 25. Uses power injector 26. Properly Administers and documents all medications included in the technologist's scope of practice. 27. Contributes to after hour coverage through on-call shift rotations. 28. Maintains all licenses, certifications and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications 29. Daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.) 30. Promotes customer service initiative by adhering to the ICARE values 31. Supports and participates in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans. 32. Compliance with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e. Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.) 33. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. 34. Other duties as assigned.
