Roles & Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging Services, the Imaging Services Medical Director and the Radiology Clinical RN Manager. With limited supervision, the CAPPS RN: Provides nursing care for the CAPPS Department as well as the Imaging Services Department in relation to the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and on a scheduled and on-call basis, as necessary. Collaborates with physicians and other departments to coordinate the needs of the patients and their family Ensures that patient care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable State Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the Imaging Services Departmental policies and procedures. Works closely with department and facility administration on patient safety and quality issues Works directly with the radiologists and other referring providers to facilitate a review of films, reports, H&P and lab values on those patients scheduled for a variety of invasive procedures to ensure examinations are appropriate and complete. Prepares, recovers and dismisses patients in accordance with the proceduralist's orders and hospital protocols post procedure. Is responsible for appropriately and effectively interfacing with other departments, physicians, physician office staff, patients, patients' family members and various other visitors to the facility Participates in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities Works within the prescribed guidelines/policies/procedures established by the department, facility and HCA Works in accordance with Joint Commission, State and other regulatory and/or accreditation agencies in the performance of their duties and complies with all safety and infection control guidelines
