Fair and understandable compensation and benefits. Tulane Medical Center is currently hiring a Histotechnologist in the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory . Under the direction of the Medical Laboratory Manager, the Histotechnologist performs technical duties involving the processing and staining of tissue in a timely, accurate and proficient manner. This position assists in the analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of tasks within the pathology laboratory system. The histotechnologist interacts directly with the pathologist in the processing and preparation of tissue sections for staining and interpretation. Performs other duties as assigned. Primary Job Duties : Organizes and prepares specimens for microscopic examinations Performs histochemical and immunocytochemistry (immunoproxidase) procedures following Laboratory protocol Collects, documents and maintains data/records related to daily procedures, embedding (tissue), bone marrow, histochemistry, immunocytochemistry (immunoperoxidase) and quality control. Performs routine, pre-routine and periodic maintenance and instrument function checks Trains and documents proficiency and provides inservice updates for assigned resident/staff.
