Standard Qualifications: Position Summary: Exemplifies professional nursing practice through expert clinical practice, strong leadership skills, and management activities. The Unit Based Educator provides clinical orientation, in-services, role modeling, continuing education, and professional development opportunities to Med/Surg nursing staff. The Educator provides consultation and education to students, nurses, and other heather care providers. Delegates duties to staff members within their scope of practice, and acts as a resource for clinical or communication issues. Functions in the chain of command, continuing the chain upward when a situation cannot be resolved. Maintains clinical skills to all areas of Med/Surg patient care.
