Standard Qualifications: Position Summary: The Histology Technologist provides quality service, in a manner timely for neonates through adolescence, and the adult and geriatric patients in the Laboratory in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA Standards. He/she functions within the philosophy, policies and procedures of North Suburban Medical Center, Inc., and represents the hospital within and outside the organization with a general feeling of positive support. A thorough understanding and application of the Histo-Technology Practice are essential due to the intense field of critical patient testing. Therefore, the Laboratory employees must continuously strive to improve clinical testing, confidence and knowledge through formal and informal education, and knowledge of age-related (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) quality of patient care.
