Standard Qualifications: TriStar Centennial Medical Center - Nashville, TN Clinical Educator (RN) - Critical Care - FT Days This role with support Nursing Staff in Medical/Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary ICU, Neuro ICU, Step-Down and Critical Care Float Pool. This position will play a key part in continuing our success! Clinical Nurse Specialist Essential Functions: 1. The CNS fosters educational development of nursing staff; 2. Models the following behaviors-effective communication skills to develop positive working relationships 3. Assists with creation and implementation of appropriate policies/procedures/ critical pathways for best practice 4. Develops, implements and evaluates new hire orientation plans, meets with new hires on a regular basis and documents progress of training/education 5. Develops an annual educational plan based on an annual education needs survey and ongoing assessment of staff, patient population and standards of practice/evidence-based practice for perinatal services. 6. Provides real time problem solving to promote critical thinking skills 7. Demonstrates advanced educational/teaching skills in the use of the teaching/learning process 8. Coordinates the development of appropriate materials to facilitate the education of staff 9. Plans, develops, presents, and evaluates educational programs independently and in collaboration with the education department and department managers 10. Provides for the dissemination of current information and theories necessary for the advancement of patient care 11. Assists with creation and implementation of appropriate policies/procedures/critical pathways for best practice 12. Develops, implements and evaluates new hire orientation plans, meets with new hires on a regular basis and documents progress of training/education 13. Develops, implements and evaluates new and experience preceptor training/competency validation 14. Assures mandatory staff competency validations/education are completed on time 15. Serves as a clinical resource/ consultant/liaison for and between nursing, physicians and ancillary staff 16. Contributes to scientific knowledge base by utilizing, facilitating, conducting, presenting, and publishing scholarly works and research findings 17. Provides leadership in performance improvement activities 18. Provides feedback related to staff education and competency at day 90 and annual performance reviews 19. Promotes and facilities participation in professional organizations and attainment of professional certifications 20. Assists with tracking licensure, certifications, and other educational requirements of nursing staff. 21. Supports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values
