Standard Qualifications: For over 45 years, Memorial Hospital has been a leader in providing quality healthcare to Northeast Florida. Memorial Hospital is a 418-bed acute care hospital offering a full line of services, including 24-hour emergency care at three different locations. We feature an accredited Chest Pain Center, certified Stroke Center, dedicated Heart Center, Bone and Joint Center, and Memorial's maternity center, Special Beginnings. We are searching for a new Manager of Women's Services, responsible for assisting the Director in the day-to-day operation of the assigned patient areas within Women's Services. He/she is also responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The position requires intimate knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate, or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required for the position. The Manager is responsible to the Director for nursing services in Women's Services and for working to create a common vision to facilitate continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care in support of the organization's mission and vision. He/she assumes the role as a leader in planning, organizing, coaching and facilitating his/her department functions in collaboration with the Director and staff to assure quality service on a twenty-four (24) hour basis and is responsible for helping the Director meet JCAHO standards, complying with the organization's policies and procedures, for assisting with managing supplies and equipment on his/her unit(s), for promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management. Specific responsibilities include nursing quality improvement, policies and procedures, productivity, all supplemental staff, program development and special projects. As part of the Women's Services team, the Manager of Women's Services demonstrates commitment to all infant security measures .
