Standard Qualifications: Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Geropsych RN oversees and directs the care of the geriatric person with psychiatric diagnosis. The RN will have basic physical assessment skills and demonstrate ability to care for the geriatric person with a co-existing psychiatric diagnosis. An ability to provide knowledgeable, empathetic care of the person requiring is essential. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Functions to seek methods to improve patient care on an ongoing basis. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
