Summary of Key Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the Data Management programming functions of Sarah Cannon Development Innovations. This includes all activities performed by Clinical and Technical programmers. This position ensures proper resources are trained and available for all projects. This position must clearly demonstrate managerial and leadership skills and have excellent organization abilities. This position must have the technical knowledge to manage systems and system vendors. Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: - Ensures the development of clinical study databases that meet user requirements - Ensures the accurate and consistent production of data sets extracted from EDC for data analysis and reporting - Promotes and enforces responsible use of data standards - Ensures proper documentation is filed in the Trial Master File - Ensures databases are constructed logically to facilitate programming and provide consistency across projects - Identifies and creates solutions and tools for improving efficiency and quality - Represents Clinical and Technical Programming with sponsors for business development activities - Builds and maintains relationships with data management team to ensure optimal performance of systems - Manages programming colleagues including hiring, performance management, training, and resource allocations - Facilitates communication of programming issues to project team - Ensures database, logic and/or programming problems are identified early in the lifecycle and are followed through to resolution - Oversees the administration and support of all clinical data management applications; This includes upgrades, patches, and validation - Builds and maintains relationship with system vendors - Works with system vendors to improve applications and plan roadmaps - Ensures the integrity of data, providing recommendations for corrective action when necessary - Drives efficiency by identifying and creating solutions and tools - Participates in budget development both for projects and for the department budgets - Keeps management team abreast of issues, progress, and risks related to trial operations - Delivers excellent customer service
