StoneSprings Hospital Center is a 124 bed acute care medical and surgical hospital serves residents in Loudoun County, conveniently located on Route 50. PURPOSE The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures using fixed and portable units in the imaging department, nursing units, and operating suites. Assists physicians in fluoroscopy using fixed and portable units. Practices radiation safety and observes universal precautions at all times. Pursues professional development for the continual improvement of patient care. Performs related work as required. HOURS OF WORK 12:00pm-8:30pm- E/W As scheduled by Department Director to ensure appropriate coverage of department services. Must be able to work weekends as scheduled. Participates in on-call requirements as per department policy. JOB FUNCTION Performs all radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures following departmental protocols. Communicates to the patient the nature of the procedure and answer questions clarifying the procedure for the patient. Assures patients' rights and privacy are maintained. Reports any significant problems related to patients, physicians, x-ray procedures, housekeeping, maintenance, supplies, or personnel to Technical Director and or immediate supervisor. Responsible for proper documentation and maintenance of all required department records. Maintains equipment and work areas. Responsible for refurbishing department supplies in procedure rooms. Assists in transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department. Upon leaving the department, ensure all appropriate equipment is properly shut off.
