Standard Qualifications: Unit Description: Neurology/Stroke/Seizure Med/Surg Unit This is a 32 bed medical-surgical unit, focused on Pre/Post Operative patients requiring general surgery, neurological surgery. Epilepsy patients requiring care and/or monitoring treatment. Stroke patients requiring care. General medical patients in any capacity, including telemetry. Telemetry is remotely monitored by CardioPulmonary unit. Position Description: According to hospital policies and procedures, the SNU assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care of the patients and oversees his/her staff on the unit during the shift. May have administrative duties assignments. The RN is involved in direct and indirect patient care. The RN provides direction to non-licensed nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. The staff nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital. In collaboration with other health team members, follows the philosophy, policies and goals of the facility and department.
