We also provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services Position Summary: Support PCMC's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities T he Clinical Informatics Director is responsible for the implementation, integration, adoption, use, and ongoing evolution of the clinical information systems at PCMC . The Director serves as the liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments and Information Technology (IT) to align clinical and IT standards with department workflow, processes and policies. The Director acts as a change agent to promote adoption of new processes and technologies to support best clinical practices. Development, execution, and support of education plan, tools and resources focused on the CPOE clinical initiative. Supports hospital initiatives in meeting core measures, patient safety and service excellence goals. Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies. Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience. Facilitation and project leadership of the CPOE and advanced clinical system functions implementation. Resolution of complex issues and requests escalated to the division Service Desk or from other division or facility service resources. Ongoing monitoring of various advanced clinicals usage trend reports. Identify gaps/areas of opportunity and develop action plan to address areas of concern. Oversight of Evidence Based Order set review, approval, and build within the facility. Provide leadership and representation on executive committees (Med Exec, Administration, etc), serves as communications specialist for physician stakeholders Identify gaps and opportunities in departmental process mapping of current state and the future state workflows. Create plans for the facility team to bridge the gaps found and implements the plans based on milestone dates. Actively support and promote systems standardization, utilization, and best practices in the area of CPOE and PDoc. The Director of Clinical Informatics applies expert knowledge of clinical information systems to the management and communications of data, information and knowledge in clinical practice and administrations, including performance and outcomes, clinical reports and decision support, clinical documentation, and practice/policy redesign A major focus of this role will be to work closely with the Clinical Directors, Administration, IT and the Meaningful Use Program to assist with the design, and implementation of the Meaningful Use program especially as it relates to the use of the MEDITECH system. The role will be actively involved in supporting the development, and execution of clinical informatics initiatives, with a focus on process changes that utilize technology to improve clinical and business functions across the organization. Over sees process changes utilizing technology as a tool; facilitates the coordination of system changes; provides onsite leadership and collaborates with the corporate informatics team in order to achieve the strategic goals of Care Excellence and to standardize PCMC's clinical care processes and lead the change management strategy. In addition, the Director will work closely with the Hospital educational resources to ensure the highest standard of education associated with care transformation is provided to the clinical users. Assists with change management efforts around the implementation of MEDITECH clinical informatics software through the development, design and execution of change management programs Assists with the ongoing design and implementation of MEDITECH clinical informatics software (Patient Care, Clinical View, and CPOE) to enable the process of care in hospitals. This will be done working very closely with the MEDITECH resources Assists with the ongoing design and implementation of other clinical informatics software to further enable the process of care in hospitals. Assists with monitoring new system setup and training to ensure following corporate operational guidelines Assists with the definition of training needs for new EMR enhancements Ensure on-going compliance to corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements Industry and evidence based best practice will be implemented wherever possible to support the standard of care and meet regulatory requirements Assist specific hospitals to change process flow to enable the implementation of new IT products to improve care processes, patient safety and efficiency as well as to meet Meaningf
