Job Summary: Responsible for assisting with the hospital, division, corporate and physician research activities of the Clinical Services Group. The candidate must have a proven background in conducting marketing research and customer product studies, with the ability to incorporate the statistical data from these studies into the creation of business strategies. This includes conducting market and consumer studies to determine customer satisfaction and provide competitor information. Industry experience in marketing and applied research is essential, with a strong background in the methodology development and maintenance of research strategies. An aspect of this experience entails an understanding of software and technology applications related to customer satisfaction, geo-demographic modeling, operations research, statistical analyses, etc. Assist hospitals with understanding and interpreting the results of the HCA conducted patient and medical staff engagement surveys and developing action plans to improve performance. Responsibilities: Corporate Research . The Market Research Manager will work closely with vendors (The Gallup Organization and Professional Research Consultants) and the Clinical Services Group to ensure the successful completion of custom surveys, patient surveys (i.e., HCAHPS and outpatient) and Medical Staff surveys. Duties include: Communicating with hospitals, divisions, physicians to understand and document the business/research objectives Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques Creation of qualitative and quantitative research plans Designing research questionnaires and moderator guides Working with hospitals, divisions, physicians and vendors to oversee the fieldwork initiative Interpreting data, writing reports, and making actionable recommendations Data Analytics/Management . Proven data analysis skills are an essential component to ensure good working relationships with vendors (The Gallup Organization and Professional Research Consultants), biostatisticians and the Clinical Services Group. In order to formulate the goals of data analysis with a particular statistical technique, the job requires working knowledge of, and practical application with higher level statistical procedures (linear regression, ANOVA, factor analysis, etc.) Included will be proven skill in SPSS and/or SAS. Along with data analysis, the job also employs the use of very large data sets. The ability to create, maintain and data mine these data sets is key to the success of this position. Primary Research . Primary research involves the collection of data that does not currently exist. The job responsibilities include: p roblem definition, methodology development, research design, survey instrument design, sample selection, management and implementation of the data collection process, analyzing results and communicating findings and their implications.
