Interviews are being set immediately, you are encouraged to apply today!  GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Contributes to the company's mission and vision by ensuring that patient is prepared and cleared for surgery. Under the direction of the clinical pre operative screeners, assists with the collection of patient information, communicates with physician offices, completes medical history, and assembles clinical record. This role also includes support in various other areas as deemed necessary.  OPERATIONAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Demonstrates necessary practical, technical or specialized knowledge and skills required for the role of the pre-operative admissions specialist. Pre-Admissions: - Displays consistent professional and courteous telephone skills. Retrieves voicemail messages and returns calls promptly. - Maintains adequate supplies for the office area. - Performs preoperative patient phone calls to collect preadmission patient information and to provide appropriate pre-operative instructions to patient. Documents information in patient chart as appropriate. **Facilities using Source One Passport or other online preadmission assessment tool will handle pre-admission process in accordance with facility policy/practice. - Maintains departmental excel spreadsheet online regarding progress with patient data collection and telephone communications. Data entry is organized and pertinent to patient accounts. - Ensures that H/P is a complete full examination of all body systems and dated within 30-days prior to procedure. - Ensures that H/P, orders for the procedure, and consent form are consistent prior to placing in medical chart. - Refers patient information to anesthesia when history indicates need. - Reports test abnormalities and any other pertinent information to surgeon, anesthesiologist, operating room staff, and other pre-operative area staff as necessary. - Advises the patient of the need for preoperative testing. - Compiles patient chart to ensure that all required documentation is immediately available (consents, orders, H/P, diagnostic studies, etc.) - Reports daily to clinical supervisor to verify accuracy of patient information, pre instructions and and pending diagnostic studies. Clinical supervisor will cosign documentation. - Spends appropriate time and energy on tasks and assignments based on the policies that are supportive of the Center's goals and objectives. - Functions independently according to job responsibilities - Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices. - Attends all mandatory in-services, staff meetings and participates in emergency drills. - Participates in the orientation of new employees. - Completes annual competency and other required education as assigned. - Maintains confidentiality and security of records and patient information at all times. - Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement". - While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current Position, it is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job.
