Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac screen or telemetry monitors. Meets communication needs of the department. Prepares and compiles records in the department. Participates in performance improvement activities. Job Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to: Accurately interprets cardiac rhythms; reports life-threatening arrythmias to nearest nursing personnel. Runs, labels, and posts rhythm strips per policy and protocol. Maintains accurate telemetry logbooks on the unit. Demonstrates flexibility; is organized and functions in stressfull situations. Admits patient to telemetry monitoring system and logbook in a timely manner. Communicates information about dysrhythmias to the patient's primary nurse.
