Standard Qualifications: Schedule: PRN as needed The PCT/HUC Technician (PCT/HUC) is responsible for performing the clerical tasks and patient care tasks as assigned by the charge nurse/clinical supervisor. The PCT/HUC functions as a receptionist for the unit and answers all phone calls and patient intercom calls. The PCT/HUC is responsible for transcribing physician orders, assembling/maintaining charts for admitted patients, preparing charts for HIM department for discharged patients, and entering orders into the Meditech system. Basic organization and cleanliness (responsibilities not performed by EVS Staff) of the unit is a responsibility of the PCT/HUC. The PCT/HUC assists the licensed staff with basic patient care functions, which includes but is not limited to bathing, ambulating, toileting and feeding patients. In addition, picking up meal trays, taking vital signs and measuring and recording intake and output are functions of the PCT/HUC. The PCT/HUC will assist the nursing staff by performing bed side glucose checks, foley catheter care including discontinuation of foley, urine collection and simple dressing care.
