Work in collaboration with physicians and other providers to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate behavioral health care for patients in the outpatient setting. Ordering and interpreting appropriate labs and special studies. Establish a working diagnosis based upon acquired data and developing or following treatment plan for psychiatric conditions in accordance with current clinic practice and in conjunction with the psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Exercise judgment on condition requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising physician or other healthcare professionals. Provide staff and patient education.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: MSN or DNP granted by a college or university approved by the Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE: Prefer an NP with previous psychiatric patient care experience. For recent graduates, psychiatric practicum or capstone required. Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of license.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse and APNP (Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber or eligible) in the State of New York. BLS Certification.
