Full-time Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician needed at a growing healthcare system in the southwestern New Mexico region! (Reference Code: KAM)
Job Summary: Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department’s policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Participates in laboratory QC/QA programs as needed to perform testing in all departments. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care. Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care. Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient’s personal characteristics. Qualifications: * MT-BS degree from an accredited college or university required in Medical Technology. Degree must be in Medical Technology or one of the biological or chemical sciences. Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school preferred. MLT-Associated Degree from an accredited college or university in a Laboratory Field. Degree must be in a Medical Laboratory Sciences or one of the biological or chemical sciences. Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school preferred. * Two years experience as a MLT and/or MT. * ASCP Certification or equivalent preferred.
