Full-time Inpatient Coding Manager needed at a TOP hospital in New York! (Reference Code: KAM)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coding Manager has a key role in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of coding processes, coding policies and education. Leads coding integrity-related projects including coding validation, data analysis, productivity monitoring, performance reporting and coding education. The Coding Manager initiates, executes and manages projects associated with coding initiatives and coordinates and supervises coding and abstracting functions. Responsible for assuring compliance in coding area.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum Education: A degree in Health Information Management or related health field preferred. CCS credentialed. * Minimum Experience: At least two years’ experience of Coding in a supervisory capacity and at least four years coding experience in a Hospital setting. Thorough knowledge of ICD-10- CM, PCS, CPT coding classifications. Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations regarding coding and abstracting for hospital facilities. Must have prior supervisory experience or experience as a Lead Coder. * Required Certification/Registration: CCS required. Must keep CE credits current.
