Labor & Delivery Tech.
Seeking talented Labor & Delivery Technician candidate that has broad knowledge and experience. This is a Full Time(37.5hrs/weekly) rotating Days(7am-3P) & Nights(11pm-7am) with weekend and holiday availability. Schedule flexibility is critical to the role. The individual will work under the direct supervision of the RN in assisting the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and other related equipment during surgical procedures.
Required Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, surgical staff, physicians and other health care workers. Able to read, write and speak English.Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization and instrument processing.Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification and assuring the presence of the necessary instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and implants.Assumes responsibility for accurate sponge, sharp and instrument counts, correct medication labeling on the sterile field and correct handling and labeling of specimens. Required Experience
Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent.BLS certification (required)Certification in Surgical Technology (preferred)1-3 yrs experience working as a Labor & Delivery Tech or Surgical Tech (highly preferred)Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, surgical staff, physicians and other health care workers.Able to read, write and speak English.
